It would be nice if it would just go away......and I'm sure we are definitely tired of the side effects of being a survivor...effects that by all accounts last a very long time. But unfortunately we get no choice in the matter. We will always be survivors, as long as we live.

But our emotions, our outlook, our awareness of what's up, that all changes over time. Hopefully we get wiser...it's almost impossible not to learn some things over time. That may well be why we are all so quiet. We see what we're up against, and we have said "F" it. It's understandable, but hopefully we all get back in touch.

We can't do much more about the problem of pedophiles and rapists inside the Catholic church than we already have. We chose to come forward publicly and tell what happened when once upon a time we were afraid to do that. We did make some waves. But as far as I can see now, that's all over and a depression has settled into place because no more can be done than making the public aware, and we did that.

We did it, survivors, one by one.

Now, we are left with SNAP and speakers for those who have the time, money or inclination to go. I see SNAP doing nothing but conferences and cruises. Perhaps it's all very healing for some, but it's it isn't going to change any laws, or repeal any statutes of limitations. For the most part, in my opinion.... SNAP just siphons money from survivors, misrepresents itself as something more than a media outlet and accomplishes nothing. I know that's not a popular view, but it's mine. If I said what I really thought I probably get hate mail.

The only way SOLs are changed are with political timing and pressure, applied by well heeled attorneys whose hearts are in the right place.

We, as a group, have given them the evidence needed. We have spoken to legislative bodies time and time again. Survivors have more than held up their end of the burden, and WE SHOULD BE PROUD OF IT. I know that you ( H.A.) have even spoken at the U.N.
Sadly, it just isn't enough to change as much as we would like. But we did our parts. The legislators of this country know the truth now. They are without excuse.

I have learned that the Catholic Church is NEVER, EVER, to be underestimated. There is no tactic that's too vile, or too evil, for them to employ. They will never reform. They have done what they have on purpose and they've done it for centuries. And they will keep on doing it too, just maybe in different jurisdictional areas than before. The Catholic church is not what it claims to be and it's no friend of the Lord's.

I think at it's core that the Catholic Church is an ancient Baal worshiping sect that's been around for thousands of years longer than they admit.

So that's my two cents anyway. It's a depressing situation for sure. Basically, the RCC is so bloody rich that everyone and their dog knows that they practically exists only to rape kids and yet all they have to do is pony up a tiny fraction of their wealth and they get away with it. We gave them our best shot ............. it damn near killed many of us and the RCC is unscathed.

Hopefully, we will all get back together on this board after we've rested up or whatever else we needed to do.
